The Sum Total of Who We Are

When asked, I jokingly say I am a Heinz 57 Christian. Not because I believe there is more than one God or more than one way to God. No, there is only one God and one way to God and that is through our belief in Jesus. I say that I am a Heinz 57… Continue reading The Sum Total of Who We Are

An Observation

Wheaties and Roman Meal bread toasted with lots of butter. Strong black coffee. Soft quartets singing in the background. Sunday mornings in church. Oreos from THE jar. Long walks, a day at the park, picnics, Slurpee’s and the newspaper. Time spent in the company of someone much older and wiser than myself. Home cooked meal,… Continue reading An Observation

He Holds You

Today you might feel like you have been pressed down, crushed and then some. Maybe you feel like everything is stacked against you and it feels as if it will never let up. The pressure so intense, any little thing that comes next will cause you to crumble. Today you might feel as if you… Continue reading He Holds You

A Song to Heaven

Have you ever wondered what from earth reaches Heaven?  What God hears in Heaven?  Does he hear every sound made by us or just our prayers?  What makes him smile, laugh or shake his head and chuckle?   I was thinking about this the other day as I walked about outside enjoying the sunshine and fresh… Continue reading A Song to Heaven

A Beautiful Life

I have a pillow on my bed that reads “Life is Beautiful”. I bought it as a reminder to appreciate the life I have and also to consider even the most difficult parts beautiful. This morning as I made my bed after a fitful nights sleep I contemplated the saying and wondered aloud if I have indeed found life to be beautiful. I came to this conclusion.

A Reminder

The Light in the Darkness

Ink black sky, sliver of a moon shining bright. Lone star twinkling in the night there in the darkness, tethered to the slip of illumination coming from the crescent shaped moon. Smallness in shape yet hopeful, breaking through the suffocating blackness. A lifeline. A position to take hold of; focus on, steady ones course by.… Continue reading The Light in the Darkness

The Story of Love

A Promise: For the peace we can have, to save us from ourselves, to restore better than before, to always be there, to bring good from the bad & bring glory to HIM. A Covenant: From the savior that IS, WAS and will ALWAYS be. A Love: Poured out on all people. Redemption Plan: Given… Continue reading The Story of Love

Radical Love

My husband and I began another small group class on marriage.  This is one of many classes, seminars and breakaways we have done since 2012 when we began our ministry to couples and families.  Our hope in doing this is to give them tools we did not have in order to have a Christ centered… Continue reading Radical Love

Through the Valley of Winter

I came across this piece in the memories timeline I had written and posted to social media over six years ago.  It was written during a time I was attempting to traverse the loss of several precious people in my tribe.  Loneliness, grief, and a loss of joy had taken root in my being.  I… Continue reading Through the Valley of Winter
