This is one of my favorite pictures – I say that about most of my pictures of Texas. It was taken while traveling down the backroads of west Texas during a tour of colleges for my oldest daughter. The trip consisted of just us girls (me, my oldest and youngest). We three traipsed across Texas and back checking out the three colleges my oldest had a desire to apply to; their daddy had given us his blessing and warning to be careful.

What I love most about this picture is it displays the beauty of the world God created for us to live in, but it also reminds me of the time spent in the company of young women I totally adore. The fun we had as we explored various towns and places in between. The talking, the laughing, the random 80’s songs sing along, the silence too, but most of all the richness of memories I will hold and recall well into my golden years. Memories I hope they treasure and recall as well.
It reminds me that WE are the beauty He created and said it was good. Light and dark. Mysterious and poignant. Breathtaking colors and rhythms. Each of us different and yet the same. Each of us given gifts ready to be displayed in Kingdom building for His glory.
